Issues Covered
Chapter Duties
- Website is now W3C Validated. Links added to page footer.
- Trip planned for this Sunday 8-3-08 to meet with Space Coast HFES Chapter.
- WRT Calendars: Suggested printing all in-house with the exception of the cover.
- WRT Calendars: Order forms need to be produced before HFES.
- WRT Calendars: Deadline of Aug 30 has been set for Final Calendar Proof
- Google Calendar will be set up alongside the group account for events and deadlines.
- Yahoo group may be disbanded and replaced entirely by Google group.
- Collection and organization of current roster list is ongoing.
Orientaion and New Student Issues
- New student orientation is August 12th at 3:00pm at Daily Grind on Alafaya.
- Discussion of various methods by which incomming students could be matched with mentors.
HFES Conference
- We will set up a chapter dinner night for the NY conference in September
- Joe will research potential resturaunts...we need a head count for a reservation
- Calendars and Order Forms need to be taken to the conference.
Activities for the Fall (To-Do's)
- Suggested activities for the fall incldue: Bookdrive, Karaoke Nights/ mixers, Teach-in, Space Coast Collaboration & Ergolympics, Science Fair Judging, Mentoring, Guest Speakers, Improvement of HFES Student Lounge, Website Improvements, Football Games, NEM Frakenstein, NEM Video Game Display.
- Look into reinstating Teacher of the Year awards.
