July 14, 2008 - Officer Meeting

Issues Covered
Chapter Duties
- We need a list of ACTIVE chapter members so we have a current head count and email list
- Scott will send an email to Lisa, the Google Groups, and the Yahoo Groups to reply to if you still want to be listed as a chapter member
- A possible new meeting place for the fall is a nearby coffee house, The Daily Grind
- Joe and Katie will put together the HFES chapter award application - due August 15th!
- Chapter officers need to get their website bio blurbs to Scott as soon as possible
Orientaion and New Student Issues
- New student orientation is August 12th
- Katie will let Lisa know we are planning to do a presentation during orientation
- We will also do at least 2 activities with the new students: coffee shop after orientation and karaoke night
- Liz Lazzara is going to take care of setting up new students with upperclassmen mentors
HFES Conference
- We will set up a chapter dinner night for the NY conference in September
- Joe will research potential resturaunts...we need a head count for a reservation
Activities for the Fall
- Heather will research calender printing prices for the calendar fundraiser
- We need to have a brainstorming meeting to plan out the rest of the calendar...maybe get picture caption input from the rest of the chapter?
- After getting together an active member email list we need to send out an interest email for polo shirts
- PVC Frankenstein is a go for NEM - maybe make out of PVC and wire like a marionette?
- The Teach-In/Science Fair activities will happen in Oct/Nov and Jan/Feb for interested members
- Joe is going to talk to Michelle Router about speaking at UCF
